I started this blog to help inform people of where and how to find bargains on things they’ll need to survive an economic downturn.  While I intend to continue doing that, I find myself spending far more time explaining to people  why preparing for an economic downturn is necessary and how the government’s actions are actually causing one.  Please read through this information and look up what I am telling you. Don’t just take my word for what I’m saying, look it up for yourself. All of the government programs will cause this recession to get MUCH WORSE.

BTW if you like what you read on this blog, please stop by my t-shirt shop at  cafepress to grab a shirt, hat or bag and let the world know what you think.   Our founding fathers would approve. LOL

MilitaryClothing.comFolks, I really hate to sound like an alarmist, but after listening to some of the parts of last night’s speech by Obama, I have to say it’s time to take action. Make those preparations NOW, there is no time to wasteIf the Dems follow through on the energy plans that Obama glossed over last night, fuel prices will go through the roof and with them everything else that is dependent on fuel for its production or transportationIf you read accounts from people who lived through the Great Depression, crime went way up. Expect the same to happen here, especially with the large number of illegal aliens from south of the border who have invaded this country. Oh I know what you’re thinking. He’s a racist”. Nothing could be further from the truth. I’m a realist. Illegal aliens  represent a substantially disproportionately high number of prison inmates for violent crime already. Why would anyone think they’ll be any less so if the economy gets worse and they aren’t able to find work either?

I’ve started adding a lot of new websites in the links area based on the category of what you’re looking for. I was intending to review each site first, but the time has gotten too short for that at the moment. I will review each site as time progresses. I will be adding new links and you’ll see I’ve added some new categories including low cost fitness instruction (physical fitness will be key to surviving a period of civil unrest.) and self defense instruction. I’ve also added links to plans for homestead construction.

Good luck with your preparations.

  Well folks,

By now I’m sure you realize that I was right about the Democrats pushing through the Obamacare plan despite all of the protests against it. I’m certain that you also realize that this is going to be a HUGE debacle and that there should’ve been no quarter given when Sarah Palin said that the plan included “death panels”. She was right of course, the Democrats are simply couching it in their usual rhetoric. They have placed a man in charge of Medicare system who could’ve have withstood any form of public scrutiny because of his calls for rationing of health care. For those senior citizens who have voted Democrat ( now more properly described as MARXIST) party their entire lives, you need to realize that you have just signed your own death warrant. Seeing as the people who have been placed in charge of the efficacy panels, have stated that the quickest and easiest way to decide which procedures to allow is to determine the benefit to society if the procedure succeeds. What that means is that retirees (You know those of you who have actually served your country in both military and industry and are now needing medical care.) will be considered as a drag on the system since your continued living won’t benefit society in their opinion. Don’t believe me? Read the writings of Jon Holdren, Obama’s science czar. For those of you with any young children under the age of five, you’re screwed if they need medical care. EXPECT infant mortality rates to RISE since Holdren considers children under the age of five as not fully developed humans and society’s investment in them to be considered minimal at that point. While I hate to wish anyone ill, I only have to wonder what the response will be when one of the liberal elitists have a disabled child? Though I can bet the result will be an abortion if the disability is discovered in a prenatally. But what if their 3 yr old has a disabling accident? I’m betting they wouldn’t be constrained to having their children treated in a government controlled health care plan. We know that because the Congress creeps have exempted themselves from the government controlled plan. When the Republicans take control of Congress, the first thing they should do is force all former congressmen who voted for the Obamacare, to be immediately enrolled into it.

For those of you who have any form of estate, you might as well find a good tax attorney and accountants to set up your Kennedy like trust funds, and/or visit Oregon for doctor assisted suicide. Your estate will NOT be going to your children, grandchildren, or even your favorite charities. Over half of it will be taken by the government come January first. The Republicans should also exempt all senators who voted for Obamacare from any and all trust fund laws making their entire estates subject to the 55% estate tax that they think everyone but them should pay. I wouldn’t argue if the Republicans made it proactive and confiscated 55% of the current net worth accumulated by Democrat Senators while in office. How exactly does a person making $160k a year accumulate net worth into the millions? I can understand Dick Cheney being worth millions, he was a successful business executive before being VP. How did Harry Reid accumulate his millions? Here’s a hint, he steered a Nevada land swap deal through the Senate that made him a lot of money. Of course his generosity with OUR tax dollars is legendary when it comes to lobbying firms with his sons and son in law on the payroll. Why his kids have made hundreds of thousands a year lobbying their own father. How’s that for a great gig?

All in all folks, we need to weed out the Congress and Senate of all of those who seem to have forgotten that they are OUR employees. That includes Senate RINOS Olympia Snow and Susan Collins. Here’s a new tactic that Mitch McConnel and Michael Steele should try with those two asses in elephant suits. McConnel should assign them to the most innocuous and useless committees. Then Steele should find some REAL reliably CONSERVATIVE Republicans to run against them in the primaries. Then it wouldn’t take much to educate the Republican voters in Maine that these two have consistently sided with the Democrats on EVERY piece of bad legislation that has come up for a vote. Collins can say that she didn’t vote for the Obamacare bill, but unless she’s an absolute idiot (a serious possibility) she had to know that voting to invoke cloture would automatically lead to its passage. Perhaps the proper method to handle Collins and Snow, at this point, would be to simply keep them from voting at all. While voting against an incumbent Republican is a generally a bad idea, I don’t see how removing these two from office could hurt the Republican cause much.

At this point in time, there needs to be a cleaning of the House and Senate and any and all lame duck legislation MUST be filibustered with COLLINS AND SNOW prevented from voting for ANY cloture vote. We need to clean house of the dirt in November (if there is an election) and then stop them from leaving any further garbage for the next Administration to clean up.

It has been said that all changes in politics comes from one of four boxes: the Soap Box, the Ballot Box, The Jury Box and the Cartridge Box. Let us hope it doesn’t come to the latter. We have had over 230 years of peaceful transitions of power, that’s a record I’m hoping will be continued, but I am having my doubts as more and more of our civil liberties come under attack by the wannabe aristocrats in DC. If they continue down the path that they are on, we will have living conditions in this country rivaling 1780s France. There will be no jobs, and no food. People will be starving. At that point, the torches and pitchforks will come out. Only this time, they will be AR15s and AK47s and the government knows it. They still intend to push their agenda to destroy the middle and working classes in this country. Don’t like the rich -poor gap in this country? It’s going to get much worse under the programs being put forth by the Obama administration.

The US Constitution is very specific in its declaration that the federal government is responsible to secure the border and protect the states from invasion. That has OBVIOUSLY been a failure of every federal government for decades. NOW during a time of what is called an assymetrical war (Laymen’s terms for everyone is a target for terrorists) and the rampant disregard for our laws by crimial aliens, the federal government is not only failing to perform their Constitutionally mandated duty, they are SUING one of the states for attempting to protect themselves from the criminal aliens streaming across the border that the federal government itself has declared both as “Secure as it ever was” (Thank you Janet “Nappy” Napolitano for another one of your ludicrous soundbites.) and also a dangerous corridor rife with violent illegal drug and human smuggling operations.

There is even a report that Obama has told Senator Jon Kyl that he will not send any National Guard troops to protect the border until the Congress passes “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” For those who don’t know, that means AMNESTY for the tens of millions of illegal aliens in this country already. We have had these amnesties many times before and the end result is ALWAYS the same. Pardon a few million and more than triple that number come running for the border for the next amnesty. This insanity has got to stop. We NEED a secure border NOW.

This isn’t about Jose, Maria, or any other hispanic people wanting to come here to better their lives. I can understand that. My dad’s dad came across on the boat from Poland. He IMMIGRATED to the US LEGALLY. He had a sponsor, a job, a criminal background check, and health check, and learned the language. I’m not asking for the ILLEGAL ALIENS to do anything other than to OBEY the LAWS. COME HERE LEGALLY, LEARN THE LANGUAGE AND ASSIMILATE.  If the country you left was so damn great, why didn’t you stay there?  Who’s really the racist? The person who wants all people to obey the SAME LAWs, or those who want a special dispensation for a group based on their race?  I hear alot of complaints about the “White Pride” movement being racist. (Well, I agree it is.) But why don’t I hear any complaints about the “BLACK” Panthers  or “La Raza” (Spanish for “The RACE” for those who don’t know) being racist? Of course they’re racist organizations. How else do you describe an organization that bases its membership and ideology on the advancement of someone based solely on the color of his/her skin? Didn’t Dr. Martin Luther King Jr have a dream wherein a person would be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character? Does anyone HONESTLY believe that La Raza or the New Black Panther party supports that ideology anymore than the white pride movement?  If you do, please don’t vote. You are simply too incapable of high level reasoning to be an informed voter. I hate saying that but, we have a wannabe dictator in the White House who was put there by the uninformed masses and voter fraud.

BTW seeing as the Democratically controlled Senate now wants to give Obama the power to turn off the internet, I’m sure that this post will probably disappear into the netherworld if the administration tries to continue their ongoing power grab. As for the Union workers who are being told to support the Dems in their struggle to take down big business, you won’t be employed if they succeed. The Union bosses are growing fat from YOUR DUES and the political influence that they buy. YOU will starve when the businesses close their doors. REMEMBER that come November.

The topic of this discussion of some of the various firearms available on the current market and some of the pros and cons of each. This one will be about surplus or semi automatic versions of military rifles. I’ll talk about pistols and revolvers in the next discussion.

Mosin Nagant

I’m going to talk about the biggest bargain in survival weapons on the market today, the M91/33 Mosin Nagant rifle and its M44 carbine variant. While the rifle is still readily available for under $75, the shorter, lighter carbine has become a bit more scarce and now commands $150 or more in usable condition. With the availability of after market accessories for this rifle, a decent synthetic stocked rifle with scope can be made for under $200. While the 7.62 x 54R round is rather antiquated, it is still in use as a sniper round in some third world countries. Surplus ammo, though corrosive, is readily available at bargain basement prices. The going rate for a sealed 440 round “spam” can is under $90. While a top loading bolt action rifle is not the first choice for a tactical encounter, this is certainly an affordable back up, hideaway or even give away gun should visitors get stranded and need a means to defend themselves.

M1 Garand

The next weapon for discussion will be the venerable M1 Garand. Chambered in the powerful 30-06 round the Garand was the first semi automatic rifle to be mass issued. It’s long, it’s heavy and only holds eight rounds. It also hits like a ton of bricks and in the hands of an accomplished shooter is accurate to over half a mile. Garands are still used for long distance target shooting and can be made into fine target rifles. Their size, weight, and limited ammo capacity makes them less than ideal for close quarters combat on todays battle field. They would still work fine as a defensive rifle fired from a position with good cover and field of fire.

M1 Carbine

To follow the M1 Garand, let’s talk about the M1 Carbine. This is a lightweight carbine that was developed to give support troops a more effective weapon than the 45 auto, but lighter and easier to handle than the Garand or Thompson submachine gun. Its relatively low powered for a rifle, but the light weight and low recoil made it a favorite of troops for decades. It has been duplicated for the civilian market by a variety of manufacturers. It is now being produced by Thompson Auto Ordinance. The one thing to look out for when it comes to the M1 Carbine is if it is built by the “Universal” company. While they used some surplus parts in their construction, most parts are not interchangeable with other manufacturers as they were not built using original design specifications. They did make a rather interesting (though now a bit rare) pistol variant of the M1 Carbine called IIRC “the Enforcer”. There are surplus M1 Carbines in firing condition available from the ODCMP for between $500 and 600. They are returned lend lease from Italy. The Korean military contractor is now exporting NEW milspec magazines to the US. One little bit of information that will prove useful, and can lead to getting the weapons for a substantial discount from uninformed owners at gun shows is that the 30 round magazines were made for the M2 select fire variant and will have feeding problems in the semi automatic M1 unless a small repair is made. The magazine catch on the M1 is designed to hold the short 15 round magazines, not the longer 30 and 40 round ones. To use a 30 or 40 round magazine, the magazine catch needs to be replaced with an M2 catch or the weapon will not feed reliably. I purchased 2 M1 carbines for $200 each (less than 5 days apart no less! I didn’t even want the second one, but the price was too good to pass up.) simply because two different owners didn’t realize that they were using inappropriate magazines. One had a 30 rounder without the M2 mag catch. The other was Universal and had a PC 5 round plastic mag that wouldn’t feed anything. $10 and 5 minutes of labor each and I have two perfectly functional M1 Carbines that will use 30 round magazines. The M2 Mag catches are readily available, and take less than 5 minutes to install with nothing more than a small screwdriver to depress a detent.

M14 or M1A

The next rifle I want to discuss is the M14 or M1A as they are designated on the civilian market. When taken care, of these are accurate long range rifles in a hard hitting caliber (7.62 Nato aka 308 Winchester) and capable of a high rate of fire. It is so effective that the US Army and Marines have been taking them out of mothballs and reconditioning them for reissue in Afghanistan where the lighter 5.56 cartridge simply hasn’t enough effective range. Springfield armory currently makes the M1A in a variety of configurations including a compact version with a 16 inch barrel. Many soldiers in the Special Operations community have opted for the heavier M14 over the M16 for years because of the greater knockdown power. It is NOT a lightweight rifle, but it does work. On the M14 front look out for knock off M1As produced in China by Norinco. Sources say that the receivers are prone to cracking with heavy use. Check local ads for people who have purchased the Springfield models but need cash for your best buys.

FN FAL or L1A1

Another rifle available with an excellent track record for reliability in combat is the FN FAL or the L1A1. They fire the same 7.62 Nato round as the M14. These are basically the same rifle except one was built using Metric specifications and the other using INCH ones. The parts are NOT interchangeable so try to find a Metric pattern rifle as they are more common. The inch pattern rifles were made for the countries of the old British commonwealth and have some interesting additional specifications. The one benefit to having an inch pattern gun over a metric one is that metric pattern magazines will function in an inch pattern rifle. The opposite is not true of inch pattern magazines in a metric pattern rifle. Inch pattern rifles have a welded on locking lug on the front of the magazine that is too large to fit the metric pattern magazine catch. These rifles are currently being produced by DSA for all new weapons and by Enterprise Arms and Century International Arms using parts from demilled rifles. The DSA weapons are preferable, but the price tag difference is substantial. www.centerfiresystems.com sells the Century Arms model for under $800. Gunbroker.com often has some used ones on sale for good prices.

Cetme

This Spanish rifle is the predecessor of the H&K G3 or H&K 91 rifle used for decades by the German Army. It fires the 7.62 Nato round. Reports on reliability are spotty, but that could be operator error or ammo issues. I’ve seen people who love them and some who hate them, so YMMV. They are currently available for under $500 from J&G sales. Magazines are inexpensive and readily available as are repair parts.

H&K 91 or PTR 91

This is the semi automatic version of the German G3 rifle. It fires the 7.62 Nato round. Reliability is reportedly excellent. It is an issue item for the Navy SEALs and can be configured as a sniper rifle. Magazines are available for bargain basement prices ( under $5 each). While the H&K was banned from import under the Clinton BS AWB, a domestic manufacturer is currently producing them under the PTR 91 designation. These are not inexpensive rifles, but other than price, they are reliable.

H&K 93 and clones

This is a 5.56 caliber variant of the H&K 91. Original H&Ks are collectors items and very hard to come by, but a knock off using demilled parts is currently available for a reasonable price from Centerfire Systems. The magazines come in only a 40 round capacity and are relatively expensive for a magazine.

SKS

This relatively inexpensive (available from Samco Global arms for under $300 plus S&H) carbine is light and handy. While later models were modified to use detachable box magazines, the SKS is hampered by its fixed 10 round magazine that has to be charged using stripper clips. If you’re looking for an inexpensive carbine that will work reliably, the SKS is not a bad choice as long as extended firefights aren’t an issue. A number of after market magazine manufacturers make detachable magazines for the SKS with varying degrees of reliability. Ones made by Tapco seem to be the best. A wide variety of accessories are available for this weapon including folding and collapsible stocks.

This blog was originally started to provide people information about survival products and considerations. More often than not I have been discussing things that are happening that will make that information necessary. I will be adding posts that I have written for another site on information that people will need. There are a lot of military surplus and military spec weapons on the market these days in a wide variety of calibers. This article was written to inform people about some of the differences between them.

With the current availability of surplus weapons and ammo from around the world, I’ve had a number of people ask me about calibers for different weapons. I’m reminded of a situation that occurred while I was on active duty. A Staff Sergeant had purchased a 6.5 mm surplus rifle, but didn’t realize that there are two different 6.5 mm rounds available, a 6.5mm Carcano round (reportedly last used as a combat round on 23Nov1963) and the 6.5 x 55 Swedish round. He purchased the wrong one for his rifle and fired it. While the rifle did not explode, because the round had not fit the chamber correctly, the casing had blown apart. It hadn’t damaged the weapon irrepairably, but it did require a gunsmith to remove a remaining brass ring from inside the chamber. I’m going to try and cover some of the more common calibers that you might find on the surplus firearms and ammo markets.

5.45 x 39 – This round was developed for Soviet Bloc armies during the early 70s as a means to defeat the body armor becoming prevalent among Nato troops during that time. It has a muzzle velocity in the vicinity of 3000 ft per second so the trajectory is reasonably flat. The weapon that fires it is an AK 74 or variation thereof, though because of the current availability of MILLIONS of surplus rounds from the former Soviet Bloc countries, Smith and Wesson, Olympic Arms and some others are producing AR 15 rifles in this caliber. Since most of this ammo is rather dirty to fire, I would recommend that AR users invest in and use a gas tube cleaning brush if using surplus ammo. The price for this ammo is quite low with 1080 round sealed cans selling for $160 or less. It is NOT interchangeable with other AK ammunition. It is currently posible to purchase a semi automatic AK 74, with 6 30 round magazines, and 1080 rounds of ammo for under $525 plus shipping and handling. That makes it a very attractive for the person on a budget.

5.56 /.223/ 5.56×45 - While there are some minor dimensional differences between the 5.56 Nato round and the .223 Remington round, they are generally considered interchangeable. Accuracy may suffer slightly from using the wrong one for your rifle, but the difference is generally not noticeable. This is the caliber that is used by most AR 15s, and M16s available today.

7.62 x 39mm - This is the cartridge used in both SKS and AK 47 rifles. It is a mid range cartridge that has an effective range that is less than the 5.56 but the heavier bullet does work well under 200 yards. It is NOT interchangeable with other 7.62 rounds.

7.62 x 51 Nato, .308 Winchester – These cartridges are fully interchangeable. This is the round fired by M14s, M1As, FN Fals, Cetmes, AR 10s. It is considered a main battle rifle round and is capable of being fired accurately out past 1000 yards with the proper loads. It makes an excellent hunting cartridge. It is not interchangeable with any other 7.62 mm rounds.

30.06 – This is the predecessor to the 7.62 Nato round. It is primarily used in M1 Garands, and ‘03 Springfield rifles. It is not currently used in main battle rifles but many used ones are still available. It is an excellent hunting round and accurate to over 1000 yards. It is not interchangeable with other 7.62 mm rounds.

7.62 x 54 R – This is the Russian contemporary of the 30.06 and has very similar ballistics. It is the ammo used for the Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle and the SVD sniper rifle used by the Soviet Bloc during the cold war. Accurate to over 800 yards, it is a solid performer, though limited by its design. Since Mosin Nagant rifles are currently under $100 and millions of rounds of the surplus rounds to feed them are hitting the market for under $90 for a 440 round sealed can, this rifle and round combination should be considered a low cost means of arming otherwise unarmed individuals.

7.62 x 25, 7.62 Tokarev. – This is a round that was developed for handguns and submachine guns in the old Soviet Union and spread to both Soviet Bloc countries and the Chinese bloc as well. It is a bottle necked case that generates magnum level velocities with a 30 caliber bullet. Despite the rounds dimensional similarity to the 7.63 Mauser round, or the .30 Luger round, it should not be used in either firearm. This round is much more powerful than either and could easily destroy the firearm. The best weapon currently available for this round is the Cz-52 handgun. This round was manufactured by a variety of countries and the country of origin should be known before using the round. While Czech manufactured rounds are ONLY safe to fire in the CZ-52 pistol or any of the submachine guns (or currently available semi auto versions there of) they can not be fired safely in the Russian Tokarev M33 pistols. The Czech rounds can defeat a lot of police body armor. The pistols that fire this caliber are readily available for good prices, and the ammo is being dumped on the market by the former Soviet bloc countries who have replaced it with NATO caliber sidearms.

7.65, 32 acp – These are the same rounds. The round is not particularly powerful but its popularity in Europe has to do with its small size and compact guns using it abound. One of the most well known military weapons in this caliber is the Czech Skorpion submachine gun. Semi auto versions of this weapon are available and while the round tiself isn’t very powerful, the large capacity magazines certainly make it an interested choice for a sidearm. Concealed under a heavy coat, the Skorpion would certainly make a mess of a group of miscreants in a hurry as the recoil would be minimal and the current hollow point offerings devastating at close range.

9mm Short, 9mm corto, 9 x 17mm,380 ACP – All the same round, just different designations. This is about the minimum power cartridge someone should consider for anything other than a basic back up weapon. Large capacity handguns such as the Beretta 84 F,  Browning BDA or CZ 83 make it viable as a primary sidearm for people who wish to carry a lighter weight weapon, and the availability of the new polymer framed sub compact Keltec P3-AT, Ruger LCP, and the Taurus P380 make this a very viable hideout gun. As does the metal framed mini 1911 380 now available from Sig Sauer. A variety of other compacts including the Bersa Thunder, Makarov and the venerable Walther PPK allow 380 users to have a handgun that fits their hand and situation. Prices can run from under $300 to over $600 depending on which pistol chosen. It is not interchangeable with other 9mm calibers

9mm Makarov, 9 x 18 – These are the same rounds. This is the round that was first chosen to replace the 7.62 Tokarev round among Soviet bloc countries. It was adopted by a variety of countries and used into the 90s. It is somewhat more powerful than the 380 ACP cartridge but because of the similarities to the 380, has not seen widespread adoption outside of the Soviet bloc. While a wide variety of surplus compact handguns are available for the round at excellent prices (sometimes under $200) ammo selection is rather limited though reloading data and boxer primed brass can improve it’s usability. For a VERY inexpensive handgun, this caliber should not be overlooked. Handguns in this caliber are currently available for under $150. A high capacity model called the CZ 82 is available for $210.

9mm Parabellum, 9mm Luger, 9mm – These are the same rounds and is the current military issue for all NATO, UN and other allied forces. This round has a lot of detractors, primarily caused by its poor performance as a combat handgun round. Full metal jacketed rounds are prone to over penetration and hence poor terminal performance. Proper shot placement and the use of hollow point or soft point rounds improves this round’s terminal performance significantly. The size of this round allows for high capacity handguns without undue size and weight. Handguns of this caliber are available from under $300. They range in size from the subcompact Kahrs, Sky CPX1 and Keltec P11 to the submachine gun sized Thomer (?) and Bruett.

40 S&W – This is an almost exclusively American round. It was developed for the American Law enforcement market following a series of spectacular failures of the 9mm round to stop armed assailants. It is a shortened and downloaded version of the 10mm round that was found to be too powerful for law enforcement officers who were not constantly training to handle the heavy recoil of the hard hitting 10 mm round.

45 ACPAmong American military members this is almost universally accepted as the round of choice for the armed professional facing drugged out or fanatical opponents in a combat environment. It is a BIG (over 11 mm) slow moving round that hits hard because of the large frontal area and heavy weight of the bullet. That size and weight doesn’t come free though. With few exceptions, the bulk of the 45 ACP pistols in existence only hold 7-8 round magazines. Most pistols with larger capacities are too thick for many people to hold comfortably. Because of the weight and size of this cartridge, ammo for it is moderately expensive, though reloading for it is simple. ParaOrdinance, Smith and Wesson make higher capacity pistols in this caliber. Glock does as well and to meet the needs of people with smaller hands is now offering it in a Slim Frame variant of their popular model 21.

Wow folks, this has been a very busy news week. Here are a few of the highlights.

  1. We have a Brit ex-pat insulting us,
  2. we have the far left realizing that Obama is NOT the messiah,
  3. the Republicans have come to the realization that maybe, if they actually find a spine, they might have a chance to prove that Obama is using Chicago style patronage and thug tactics
  4. Helen Thomas proves she’s a shriveled up old anti semitic bigot
  5.  an experience and apparently morality challenged leftist is nominated to the Supreme Court.
  6. and the Federal government is moving to shut down sites like this one to prevent information from actually getting out.

All in all simply too much stuff to comment in the short time that I have available. Do us all a favor though and contact your Senators and tell them to vote AGAINST confirming Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. She simply has no experience as a judge, and has shown a definite belief that judges should set policy from the bench rather than to conduct their offices in accordance with their Constitutional responsibilities to determine if a law is in line with the Constitution or not. She is from the same Justice Dept that is arguing that whether Obama was a natural born citizen or not doesn’t matter, even though being such is a Constitutional requirement to hold the office.  That’s right folks the Obama administration is arguing that the Constitution is irrelevent. Isn’t upholding the law of land what the JUSTICE Dept SUPPOSED to be there fore? Especially the Constitution which is SUPPOSED to be the supreme law of the land?

This really should be a no brainer but here it goes anyway. When a country declares a NAVAL BLOCKADE against another country, they are warning anyone who attempts to enter the coastal waters of the second country that they will face boarding, inspection, redirection and possibly detention. Any country lacking the conviction to actually enforce a naval blockade has no right to invoke same. Likewise anyone attempting to run a naval blockade should realize that they are facing all of the previously mentioned actions as well as simply being sunk on sight.

Why am I even writing this post? Because some people are simply too dense to understand what is normal operating procedures when it comes to naval blockades and seem to think that they are simply allowed to run them without consequence. It doesn’t matter WHY you are running the blockade, only that you ARE running the blockade. Paintball guns aren’t just showing restraint, they’re a ridiculous risk of the lives of your soldiers. The protestors should have been shown a lot less kindness by the Israelis and there probably wouldn’t have been as much blood shed. Shotguns with rubber slugs would’ve been non lethal and far better at allowing the soldiers to protect themselves. Watching a few of their friends fall from apparent gunshot wounds would’ve encouraged many of the protestors to become significantly more cooperative. My sincerest regards go out to the Israeli commandoes. They were where they were supposed to be, the protestors were not.

Well Folks, I’m back online for the moment. Things are looking pretty hairy out there. Get stocked up on everything you can. If the taxes that the Dems want to push through happen, the economy will tank worse than Zimbabwe. Buy what you need now, you may not be able to get it later, and if you do, all of the taxes are going to cause runaway inflation.

This is to let you know that the next week may be a bit hectic as we are relocating to a retreat location away from the cities. Stock up and be safe. Get prepared for the economic mess that’s coming.

Folks, the Dems in Congress seem intent on forcing this debacle down our throats. We must NOT allow a vote on this bill in the Senate, as any legislation that will pass will immediately be thrown into conference committee and since they can walk in with a reasonable bill (this one isn’t) and turn around and pick up the House Debacle and walk out with that as the compromise bill and go straight to a reconciliation vote that requires only 51 votes to pass and is not subject to a filibuster. This bill MUST be stopped in the Senate or we will be stuck with a government run healthcare plan, no matter what. The taxes involved in this combined with the pending Cap and trade fraud will drive businesses out of this country. The reductions in payments to doctors will cause the number of doctors in this country to plummet. The number of specialists will fall as well seeing as they will have higher educational and malpractice insurance expenses with no more income than a general practitioner. Don’t think there will be “death panels”, how do you think they’re going to decide who gets to see the oncologist? The party official or the peaon that doesn’t wish to suck at the government teat?

As I reported here in October, the true agenda of the environmentalists has nothing to do with actually protecting the environment. It has to do with their desire to control the world’s population. That has been confirmed by at least two sources this week. One a representative of the Chinese government, and the other from Canada. Of course the fact that the Canadian author who was telling everyone else that they should only have one child is a mother of two doesn’t mean a thing… Many people don’t realize that Paul Ehrlich, the professor who wrote the now discredited “Population Bomb” was a mentor and collaborator with Obama’s Science Advisor John Holdren. Holdren has been linked to the global warming fraud that has been exposed with the release of emails, documents and computer code from the University of East Anglia Climate Research center a few weeks ago. While they are arguing about federal funding for abortions, Holdren as advocated federally mandated abortions.

As I write this, politicians from around the world are dining on caviar and trying to decide how to best steal the paychecks of hard working people in the industrialized world to prop up Marxist dictators’ corrupt regimes in the third world and line their pockets at the same time.

In their openness they’re using armed guards to prevent the scientists behind the Global Warming scam from being asked tough questions. The “scientist” in question is the very same Steven Schneider who has made the following statement about the need to LIE if necessary
“We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public’s imagination. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.” – Stephen Schneider, Stanford Professor of Climatology, lead author of many IPCC reports
Two Sources: http://climatesight.wordpress.com/2009/04/12/the-schneider-quote/, http://www.green-agenda.com/gaia.html

Doesn’t anyone find it simply WRONG that this supposed scientist is telling his colleagues that it’s more important to be effective than honest? Is that what science is supposed to be about? Try that attitude in a college science class and see how far it gets you.
