Well folks, I’m sure the title of this article will not sit well with the Kumbaya and Koolaid crowd, nor the people at CAIR who don’t really, but the facts are facts. The shooting rampage at Ft Hood, Tx was totally preventable. It would have easily been prevented if people hadn’t been so worried about being politically correct and therefore frightened of being labeled a bigot. Whether the shooter, Major Nidal Hasan, is crazy or a religious zealot is inconsequential. The fact that people around him KNEW he was defensive of suicide bombers and other acts of radical Islamic ideas is not. Despite complaints being made, and counseling being given, NO OFFICIAL COMPLAINT WAS FILED due to a fear of being labeled a bigot. How many times do we have to hear about Muslims with openly radical anti American views planning, preparing for, and occasionally even carrying out terrorist attacks in this country before we stop worrying about looking bad to the Muslim world because we investigate and if necessary STOP them? How many people HAVE TO DIE, before we realize that political correctness is dangerous to the lives of American citizens? I don’t recall the ACLU being up in arms over the White House having citizens report on people who disagree with the Obamacare plan that will bankrupt the country, driving taxes, prices and unemployment through the roof. I don’t remember the ACLU protesting the torching of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco. I’m not saying what the Branch Davidians were doing was right or wrong, only that I don’t see the ACLU protesting to protect their rights to do it. Were we only so lucky that they would care so little for the rights of a group of people who are involved in things that are dangerous to the lives of others. Oh, does that mean I think we should profile? Well, yes it does. Why are we wasting time searching little old ladies getting on to planes, while allowing military aged middle eastern men to get onto planes unchecked? Do I think we need to stop worrying about protecting people’s feelings versus protecting people’s lives. YES, IT DOES. Had any of the concerns of Hasan’s anti American attitudes been officially placed in his personnel file, he probably would have been cashiered out of the military for failing to be promoted to Major. Instead, because noone wanted to be considered a bigot, he was allowed to continue on in the military. We have many wonderful soldiers who just happen to be Muslim. Because noone was willing to step up and officially report the un American actions of this one individual, it reflects poorly on all of them. A situation that is NOT good for anyone.
